How to make Goan Chicken Coconut Curry

Ingredients for Goan Chicken Coconut Curry

  • Boneless chicken cut into cubes - 450 grams

  • Coconut milk - 1/2 cup

  • Salt 

  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon

  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

  • Oil - 2 tablespoons

  • Ginger-garlic paste finely chopped 1 - 1/2 tablespoons

  • Onion - 1 medium

  • Garam masala powder - 1 teaspoon

  • Red chilli powder - 1/2 teaspoon

  • Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon

  • Chicken stock - 3 cups

Method

Step 1

Take some chicken pieces into a bowl. Add salt, turmeric powder and lemon juice to it and mix well. Keep aside for 10 minutes.

Step 2

Heat sufficient oil in a non-stick pan. Add ginger-garlic paste, stir and boil well. Add onion, mix and fry on high heat till translucent.

Step 3

Add chicken, mix well and cook for another 1 minute. Add garam masala powder, chilli powder and cumin powder, mix well and cook till the oil separates.

Step 4

Add chicken stock, stir to mix, cover and bring to boil. Lower the heat and simmer for another 10 minutes.

Step 5

Add coconut milk, mix well and boil for 4 minutes.

Step 6

It is ready to be served hot.
